How it works, and what it will not do
Is this a substitute for someone looking at the roof?
No, and it is not meant to be. It sorts what you can see from the ground into rough urgency, so you know whether to ring today or whether it will keep until spring. Only someone up on the roof can tell you what is actually happening, which is why that visit is free.
Do I have to give you my details to see the result?
No. The result appears on the page. Nothing is submitted to us and nothing is stored anywhere except in your own browser, so that if you go on to request a quote we can carry your answers across rather than making you type them again.
Why does one answer sometimes outrank all the others?
Because three minor symptoms should not be allowed to add up to more urgency than water coming through a ceiling. Daylight through the roof, an active drip in the loft and a sagging roof line each mean the covering or the structure has already failed, so any one of them takes the result straight to the top band regardless of the score.
What if I cannot see anything wrong at all?
Then run it anyway and enjoy the answer. Most of what eventually costs money starts out invisible from the pavement, so a clear result is worth having — and it is a good moment to check when the roof was last looked at.
